The Gila Monster Dual Sport & ADV Rally

The Gila Monster Dual Sport & ADV Rally is suitable to any street legal dual sport or adventure bike. There are a plethora of both paved and dirt roads in the area. We have proven tracks—dirt and pavement—and a bunch of roads we want to explore. So whether you are a newbie or a old grizzled veteran and whether you ride a lightweight dual sport or a full-sized adventure bike, there is great riding here for you.

The itinerary:

Thursday, August 13th 2026:

Early Bird Ride - meet 9am, Ella’s Cafe, full tank of gas

4 pm - 6 pm: Rider check-in, county fairgrounds, Reserve, NM

6 pm: Rider safety meeting and ride group formation

Friday, August 14th 2026:

8 am - 4 pm: Ride

4 pm - 7 pm: Rider social, county fairgrounds, Reserve, NM

Saturday, August 15th 2026:

8 am - 4 pm: Ride

5 pm - 8pm: Banquet, county fairgrounds, Reserve, NM

Sunday, August 16th 2026:

What to expect: 

The Gila Monster Dual Sport & ADV Rally is suitable to any street legal dual sport or adventure bike. There are a plethora of both paved and dirt roads in the area. We have proven tracks for both dirt and pavement!

Organization:

We will divide into small riding groups (Ideally 6 or fewer). Recruit some friends and create your own group, or show up at the riders meeting Thursday and we will help groups get together. You will meet people and make new friends!

Preparation:

Your bike should be in good working order and have at least a 130 mile fuel range. You should have all the necessary tools with you to repair a flat (the single most common problem during an adventure ride) or handle typical problems with your particular motorcycle. Please don't rely on others to have the tools and parts to fix your bike in the event it breaks.

Gear:

Everyone participating is operating at their own risk, and expected to wear full safety gear: Helmets, motorcycle jackets/pants, boots, gloves etc. at a minimum. Hydration packs are also encouraged.

Navigation & Communication:

GPX files will be provided. This event is a self-guided tour. You should be familiar with navigation via GPS devices/apps. If you are not, we can pair you with other riders who are. Comms units are encouraged. Most riders will use Sena or Cardo. Route previews to be released soon, but we are planning approximately 5 different options!
