Uncle's Around The Bend #20 & Trail Boss 250 Desert Challenge!

Welcome to the 20th Annual Uncle’s Around the Bend Rally!

The 20th Annual "Uncle's Around The Bend" will take place Thursday February 25th to Sunday February 28th. From one of the best twisty paved roads in Texas (Hwy 170 from Terlingua, TX to Presidio, TX) to Pinto Canyon Rd, the most scenic dual sport road in Texas, Big Bend is a motorcycling paradise!

Tentative Itinerary:

Thursday 2/25/27:

• 5pm: Rider check in, Venga Cafe. Please be on time. Grab-n-go food will be available during check-in (Self-pay, not covered by Rally Ticket).

• 6:30pm: Riders' Meeting & group assignment, Venga Cafe.

• 7:30pm - whenever: Story telling & tire kicking, Venga Cafe. BYOB.

Friday 2/26/27:

• 7:30am: Venga Cafe will have grab-n-go breakfast available. (Self-pay, not covered by Rally Ticket).

• 8am-8pm: Ride the Trail Boss 250 Desert Challenge (contingent upon roads in Big Bend National Park being open).

• 8am- 5pm: Ride the Big Bore ADV Challenge, or the track of your choosing.

• 5-9 pm: Storytelling & tire kicking on The Porch (Terlingua Ghost Town).

Saturday 2/27/27:

• 7:30am: Venga Cafe will have grab-n-go breakfast available. (Self-pay, not covered by Rally Ticket).

• 8am-5pm: International ADV Ride to Peguis Canyon, or the track of your choosing. (Don't forget your passport!)

• 5pm: Group Fajita Dinner, Venga Cafe. (Covered by Rally Ticket).

• Presentation, door prizes, award ceremony during dinner.

• 8pm- whenever: Storytelling & tire kicking on The Porch (Terlingua Ghost Town).

Sunday 2/28/27:

• Go home.

Around the Bend 20th Edition Ride Options: (Track previews coming soon!)

• Trail Boss 250 Desert Challenge: (contingent upon roads in Big Bend National Park being open). How tough an ol' boy are you? Are you Trail Boss tough? This challenging 250 mile loop in Terlingua Ranch and Big Bend National Park will test your skills and push your limits to finish this route in under 12 hours to earn your Trail Boss Certification!

• Big Bore ADV Challenge: This 250 mile ride is a full day of dirt and street riding includes Pinto Canyon Road, the most scenic dirt road in all of Texas! This is an easier and more scenic option than the Trail Boss 250 Desert Challenge.

• International ADV Ride: This all-pavement ride goes from Terlingua to Presidio, then crosses the border into Mexico to visit scenic Peguis Canyon; a narrow desert gorge carved by the Conchos River about 25 miles west of Ojinaga in Northern Chihuahua, Mexico. Don't forget your passport!

• Bad Rabbit 100: The extended version of the well known challenging Top of the World Ride! This is a difficult track, best suited for Dual Sport riders who want to test their skills!

  ***Note that several popular dirt roads in Big Bend National Park are currently closed due to road conditions and construction. We will closely monitor conditions and will post updates as they become available. There are plenty of other great dirt roads to ride outside of Big Bend National Park. Either way, we will have a great time!***

• $130 for early registration (Valid through 1/25/27).

Rally registration includes the following: Rally Attendance, GPS tracks, t-shirt, stickers, swag, and group dinner on Saturday evening.

Primitive camping is available at Base Camp Terlingua for $25 a night at the end of Kempf Rd, with access to the bathhouse. Email info@adventureterlingua.com to book directly and receive instructions for camping.

We are actively working on group discounts with other hotels, however we strongly recommend you book your lodging soon. Options are limited in the area and will sell out.

What kind of rally is this? It’s a motorcycle rally open to one and all. Street-only, adventure, and dual sport riders are all invited to attend. Come by yourself or bring some friends. Ride when you want and where you want. Have an adventure. Got a few extra days off? Then come on out early. Or stay a few days late. The main point is to have fun.

Street riders Do you ride street only? No problem, we have some great riding for you too. There are some awesome paved roads in the Big Bend area that really shouldn’t be missed. In fact, Hwy 170, aka “River Road” is one of the top 5 motorcycling roads in Texas.

Dual Sport and Adventure Riders Lots of dual sport riders enjoying riding the Big Bend desert. If you’ve always wanted to play in the dirt at Big Bend but just haven’t made it yet, this is a wonderful opportunity to do so. If you want something a little tougher then consider registering for the Trail Boss 250 Desert Challenge!
